COMMERCIAL TEXTILE DESIGN

A small selection of client-directed surface pattern designs for the apparel market –
created, reworked, and recolored in Photoshop, Illustrator, Kaledo, and Ned Graphics Fashion Studio for New York City design companies.

 

 

My skill set includes

translating purchased artwork into production-ready repeats and sizes for both print and woven end products

cleaning, indexing, and reducing colors into limited screens while maintaining original visual impact of multi-colored designs

revising and updating CADs and colorways from archive and creating appropriate companion pieces

using Ned Graphics Fashion Studio, Kaledo, and Adobe Creative Suite to create and make colorways for patterns, stripes, and plaids
researching and identifying print trends relevant to specific projects and customers

preparing print boards for seasonal color and concept presentations

collaborating with merchandising, production, and design to translate inspiration sample prints and patterns into CAD format

preparing artwork and mechanical packages to meet vendor needs while understanding print and pattern production processes understanding costing challenges and working within them to meet targets and to ensure profitability of product

utilizing PLM software to upload and maintain artwork and tech packages for production team and vendors

managing multiple design projects and clients simultaneously

 maintaining awareness of corporate calendar in order to effectively manage a demanding workload

assisting in maintaining and creating an organization and classification system

researching new software and upgrades in order to utilize digital programs more effectively and to maximize productivity
